"Recovery is hard, but not recovering is harder."

Having been there myself I know how easy it is to fall into the mindset of feeling hopeless and not being able to see a way through the illness. It is tempting to try and rest your way to recovery, or even just accept that this is the way that life is going to be from now on. As hard as recovery is, the prize of fully recovering and even making significant improvements is worth every ounce of the challenge.

The single most important thing is a commitment to recovery. This doesn't mean desperately trying to fix yourself, or trying every possible strategy under the sun.  It is about devising a plan of action and using your time wisely. When I work with clients we establish a daily and weekly plan and develop a bespoke strategy to help them move forwards.

One question I ask them is ;

"What will you do with your 24 hours today?" I am referring to anything that is going to support healing and recovery. This could an appropriate balance of activities, planned rest, joyful moments, eating well, socialising, meditation, yoga etc.

Make every choice, your best choice!
